Mary Ann Schmidt, Environmental Sciences and Management, received the Stevens River-Watch Award for her “outstanding efforts in stream monitoring" through the PSU Student Watershed Research Project program. For the past six years, the Clackamas River Basin Council and students from Portland State have teamed up to sample water quality throughout the lower Clackamas watershed. Results were shared with more than 500 streamside landowners. Students from the watershed program also participate in a community celebration by leading various environmental education games.
