Debra Gwartney receives literary fellowship
Debra Gwartney, English faculty, is one of six Oregon writers
awarded a literary fellowship from the Oregon Commission on the Arts. She also
won second prize (from 1,600 entries) in the recent Family Circle fiction contest. Her memoir. Live Through This, will be published by Houghton Mifflin on Feb.
10, when Gwartney will give a reading in New York City and will be featured on Good Morning America. As part of a
one-month book tour, she'll read at Powell’s on Feb. 12.
