THE LAST CURRENTLY for the 2007-2008 academic year will be published electronically Monday, June 2. Deadline for that issue is Wednesday noon, May 28. Currently will be published once in mid-summer and will resume weekly publication in the fall.
Civic Engagement Awards reception, May 29
Excellence in community-based teaching, learning, and partnerships will be recognized at the eighth annual Civic Engagement Awards reception Thursday, May 29, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Multicultural Center, 228 Smith Union. President Michael Reardon and Provost Roy Koch will present the awards following Thomas Ehrlich's keynote speech on "Educating for Democracy." Celebration planned for retiring engineering dean
The campus community is invited to celebrate Robert Dryden's 13 years of service at a reception Tuesday, June 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Engineering Building, 1930 SW Fourth. Reservations are not required. Dryden is stepping down from his position as dean of the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at the end of June. After a short leave, he plans to join the PSU Engineering and Technology Management Department as a professor. read more >
McNair Research Conference this Thursday
The Fifth Annual Undergraduate and McNair Research Conference will highlight the academic work of PSU students Thursday, May 29, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in 294 Smith Union. Sustainability lectures and celebration planned
Four free lectures—all from different campus programs—as well as an inaugural Campus Sustainability Celebration are scheduled through June 6. The first talk, "Moving Forward: An Inclusive Agenda for Sustainability," is May 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Smith Union Ballroom, room 355. read more >
Retirement reception to honor Joy Rhodes in Social Work
The School of Social Work is honoring Joy Rhodes for her 23 years of service at a retirement reception Wednesday, June 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Browsing Lounge, 238 Smith Union. End of year concerts and recitals
Students are performing almost daily through June 14 in individual recitals and as members of the Concert and Jazz bands, Wind and Symphony orchestras, and Women's and Chamber choirs. Human Resources offers training
Human Resources is offering free workshops in June on reading HR Banner screens, hiring unclassified employees, and creating letters of offer. The department also offers training on electronic time sheets and creating PeopleAdmin accounts. read more >
