The WMPP brings simple watershed concepts like land management and restoration as well as the everyday complexities underlying them, into sharp focus for professionals engaged in watershed protection, restoration and management activities. We use participant's experience in combination with skillful presentations by knowledgeable experts to prepare the class for the complex and intertwining challenges of:

• Law
• Social and Legal Processes
• Ecology
• Physics and other Scientific Disciplines
• Economics
• Community Organizing
• Dynamics of Social Change, and
• Other challenges inherent in watershed management

Completion of three core courses plus two elective courses offered by the Watershed Management Professional Program provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to make effective decisions about complex properties and resources within a framework of diverse disciplines, values, ecological baselines, ownerships, controls, and user rights.  The courses are offered for graduate credit, or as non-credit professional development seminars.  Following successful completion of the five courses, a Certificate of Completion in Watershed Management will be awarded.  All core courses are offered annually, and participants have three years to complete the course work for the certificate.
