The book, entitled “Sports and Public Policy: Social, Political, and Economic Perspectives," was co-edited with Charles A. Santo of University of Memphis and was published by Human Kinetics Press (Champaign, Illinois: 2010). The text examines some of the most compelling policy issues affecting the sports world from an interdisciplinary perspective-including economics, history, urban planning, not-for-profit administration, public health communications, political science, and philosophy.

Appearing in this volume, Gerry coauthored a chapter titled "Cooperation Amidst Competition: The Nature of Sport Leagues" with Nathanial Sampson, and authored another chapter titled "Beyond the major leagues: Lessons from the organization of international sport."
