MST for Noyce Scholars and Preservice Teachers - 2011-2013 Program of Courses

The Noyce program is designed specifically for pre-service science and math teachers.  The goal of the program is to prepare students for teaching in diverse classrooms in high needs schools.  This program is a two-year commitment that leads to a Masters in Science Teaching degree and an Oregon Teaching Certificate.

Students enroll concurrently in the part-time GTEP and the MST program classes and thread their research throughout the two-year program. The science education research thesis is tied to the GTEP work sample project, thus providing students with guidance to do an in-depth study on an aspect of their own teaching practice. MST students interested in becoming a certified teacher, but who do not have Noyce funding may apply to GTEP and still use this course plan.
