What is PSU Alert?
PSU Alert is an emergency notification system used to send emergency alerts, notifications and updates to your cell phone, pager, phone and e-mail account. In the event of an emergency, (fire, inclement weather, etc.) the PSU administration will be able to send important alerts and updates right to your preferred point of contact. PSU Alert IS NOT used to send non-emergency, routine or spam messages. Please see Privacy and Terms of Use.

Situations for which PSU Alert will be used may include (but are not limited to):
- Campus closings
- Building emergencies
- Potential life-threatening situations on campus
- Extreme weather conditions
- Activation of emergency response teams
Conditions you would not receive these messages:
- If you have NOT "opted-in" to the PSU notification system.
- If you "OPT-IN" but you have not provided accurate/updated information.
- If you "OPT-OUT" of the PSU notification system.
- If you are not a registered student or an active PSU employee at the time of notification
- Issues with your mobile device service provider.
- Spam filter may have blocked an e-mail from being delivered.
Types of Messages
Depending on your device of choice, here is an example of what a PSU Alert message might look like:
Sample message: PSUALERT -- FIRE in Cramer Hall. If you are in Cramer Hall, evacuate immediately. If you are not in Cramer Hall, avoid this area. Visit www.pdx.edu and check e-mail for details.
