Procedures
During your initial appointment, you will meet your counselor and get more information about the clinic and the counseling process. The counselor will also begin to ask you questions about your reasons for seeking counseling.
During the next couple of sessions the counselor will get to know more about you and your concerns, and will work with you to develop a plan for resolving them.
Once the plan has been developed, you and the counselor will work together to implement the plan and monitor your progress to ensure that you are getting the results you want.
Experienced supervision
Because we are a training clinic, counseling sessions are always supervised. Each counseling room has one-way glass that allows a supervisor to observe the session in order to support and give feedback to the counselor. We also videotape each session so counselors can review their performances and develop their skills. The videotapes are treated as confidential information and only used for supervision purposes. Once the tape has been reviewed it is erased.
