General Information
The faculty at Portland State University play an important role in the success of the annual Commencement Ceremonies. All faculty members are invited and strongly encouraged to participate in the Spring and Summer Commencement Ceremonies. It is important and meaningful to the students and their families to have faculty representation at ceremonies. If you have any questions regarding Commencement or would like to participate in the ceremony, please register here or contact commencement@pdx.edu.
The 2012 Spring Commencement Ceremony is on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Rose Garden Arena. Please join your colleagues for lunch beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the Rose Room. Volunteers will be at the arena to direct you.
Registration
Please click here to register as faculty marshal, attendee, or if you will be hooding a doctoral student.
Faculty Marshals
Faculty marshals process with the graduates to direct them, help them assemble, and escort them up to the stage. Please register as a "Marshal" if you would like to participate in this role.
Regalia
Faculty must wear traditional academic regalia. Regalia may be purchased or rented (faculty will receive details on how to procure regalia by the beginning of Spring term). AAUP will reimburse full members up to $59.95 for rental or $59.95 per year for purchase until regalia is paid off. Getting to the Arena
Faculty are encouraged to use Tri-Met or other sustainable methods of transportation to get to the Rose Garden Arena. Both the Green and Yellow lines run directly from campus to the Arena and are free. Faculty may also park at the Rose Garden Arena for $6 to $13. Once at the Arena, please find volunteers in green shirts with umbrellas to direct you to where you need to be.
