Arts & Letters

Bachelors degrees and minors are available in Applied Linguistics, Communication Studies, English, Foreign Languages and Literatures, History, Philosophy, and Speech and Hearing Sciences.
In addition, there are both Arts and Letters and Liberal Studies bachelor degree programs, and a Film Studies minor through the English department. Arts and Letters and Liberal Studies majors and an English minor may be completed evenings and weekends.
Masters degrees are offered in Communication (MA, MS), English (MA, MAT), Foreign Languages and Literature (MA, MAT), General Social Sciences (MAT, MST), and History (MA).
Certificates are awarded by the Foreign Languages and Literatures department in both Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language.
