Dr. Aisha Musa is Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies, Department of
Religious Studies, Florida International University. She earned her BA
in International Studies with a Middle East focus and a Middle East
certificate in 1990, and an MA in General Arts and Letters with
specialty in Arabic Language and Applied Linguistics in 1992, both from
PSU. In 2004, she completed her PhD in Arabic/Islamic Studies at
Harvard University. She is the author of Hadith as Scripture:
Discussion on the Authority of Prophetic Traditions in Islam
(Palgrave-Macmillan, 2008), and various articles and book chapters on
Islamic topics. She has made numerous presentations on television and
at academic conferences.
