Early Childhood Education Advising

For advising you may set up an appointment with Dr. Parnell (parnellw@pdx.edu) during office hours or attend an open advising session. Dates are listed below and open advising is offered from 4-5pm in the Helen Gordon Child Development Center's Piazza space with Professor Will Parnell. Check in at the front desk and they will escort you to the room.

Note:

  • Please bring your ECE program planning guidepdf with you to each advising meeting.
  • All substitutions for any course need to be approved by the advisor before the student takes the course. Substitutions appear in the “remarks" section of the GO-12 form, on the students planned program of study.
  • All transfer courses need to be taken for a letter grade from an accredited university at the graduate level. Use the GO-21 for pre-admission and transfer credits.
  • Be aware that there is a 6-credit limit for PSU 800 level classes or equivalent professional development courses from other institutions, with the exception of courses numbered 808, which will not count towards any degree.
