What: More than 450 middle and high school students and parents will attend the Pre-Engineering Family Conference sponsored by Portland State University and Oregon MESA. The conference aims to give students and their parents information about areas of study in engineering at Oregon colleges and universities on possible career paths, and financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
When: Saturday, April 14, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Background: Oregon MESA (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement) is a pre-college academic program of the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at Portland State University dedicated to engaging under-represented students, grades 6–12, in hands-on math, engineering, science and technology projects during weekly chapter meetings at school sites.
The Pre-Engineering Conference is made possible by a grant from the Engineering and Technology Industry Council.
