Civic Engagement Breakfast Series- Read about our upcoming and recent breakfast events, which invite students, faculty, staff, and community members to participatory, hour and a half long discussions on topics such as engaged research, community partnership, Eco-district planning, or multi-disciplinary approaches to sustainability practice. As always, refreshments will be served.
Community Engaged Research Scholars- In early January of 2010, 14 Portland State University (PSU) faculty members were selected to form a community of campus scholars, rooted in engaged research projects. As part of this community, each faculty member participated in monthly, multi-disciplinary discussions, presented their findings in an open forum, and received a mini-grant of $1,500. Departmental Engagement- At Portland State University, engagement is a university-wide, integrated approach to learning that pervades the curriculum. Please click to learn more about how PSU implements this commitment and to read the Departmental Engagement Rubric!
Faculty Fellows- The Faculty Fellows Program supports, encourages, and enhances faculty innovation in areas that forward the University’s mission
and goals. The Program convenes a group of interdisciplinary faculty who, over several meetings, work on completing individual projects while benefiting from discussions with and resources offered by their fellow colleagues, and by the Center.
One-on-One Support- Find ways to schedule a consultation with one of our CAE directors, and receive personalized support for designing and teaching community-based learning and interdisciplinary courses.
