Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U)- AAC&U is the leading national association concerned with the quality, vitality, and public standing of undergraduate liberal education. Its members are committed to extending the advantages of a liberal education to all students, regardless of academic specialization or intended career. Founded in 1915, AAC&U now comprises 1,200 member institutions—including accredited public and private colleges and universities of every type and size. Available resources discuss topics such as institutional change, diversity, civic engagement, women, global learning, and STEM discplines.
American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASC&U)- Established in 1961, the AASC&U represents 420 public college and universities, dedicated to the support, assessment, and quality of higher education throughout the United States and in Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The American Democracy Project (ADP) is AASC&U's multi-campus initiative focused on higher education’s role in preparing the next generation of informed, engaged citizens for our democracy. Portland State University hosted an national, ADP conference in 2005 and participates each January in the ADP initiative, MLK Day of Service.
Campus Compact- Campus Compact is a national coalition of more than 1,100 college and university presidents - representing some 6 million students - dedicated to promoting community service, civic engagement, and service-learning in higher education. Their website provides valuable print and online resources for faculty, staff, and students intersted in service-learning or already active in the field.
Learn and Serve America Upcoming Events - The National Service-Learning Clearinghouse maintains a database of upcoming service-learning conferences and events, as well as national days of service. The database also provides feedback from past conferences and can assist in determining which events would be most helpful or appropriate based on participant needs and desires.
