9 Principles of Good Practice for Assessing Student Learning- Among these steps, several of the key assessment aspects that are discussed include the role of educational values, multidimensional and integrated learning, clarification of purpose, attention to outcomes as well as experiences, and non-episodic learning. This list was created through the AAHE Assessment Forum.
Assessment Articles- These articles discuss the key concerns in learning assessment, such as 'What do we want our students to learn?' and 'How to adapt classes to improve student success?' The themes of these writings emphasize learning as a continuum, and suggest tools through which to assess the various levels a student undergoes on the way to transformational learning.
Classroom Assessment Techniques- These resources range from a discussion of various learning theories, to a multiple choice handbook, to a sampling of assessment techniques and tips on how to implement these strategies within the time pressures of a regular, class work load.
Learning Outcomes Worksheet- Updated in 2009, this worksheet was prepared by PSU's Institutional Assessment Council. It presents a seven-step process to assess student learning outcomes on a departmental basis.
Rubric Bank- This page provides pdf and website links to some of the leading teaching and learning assessment rubrics available. Rubrics are tailored for certain subject matter, age ranges, and individual or group use, and are published by nationally reputable universities and organizations.
Assessment Planning for Departments- This list of resources can be used by chairs and support staff alike to write learning outcomes and create classroom assessment activities. All resources can be checked out from the CAE Lending Library. PDF copies can be made available by contacting CAE.
Professional Assocations by Discipline- Included is a list of professional associations by discipline and their main web links. Departments can find educational resources that specifically pertain to their discipline.
