Bike Parking & Amenities

 Secure Bike Parking

PSU Transportation operates four long-term bike parking facilities on campus. These access-controlled areas require a bike parking permit and a PSU access card (contact ID Services for more info about access cards). A limited number of bike parking permits are available, and they are sold at the PSU Bike Hub for a small fee ($15 per academic term or $45 per year). Each of these facilities has the following features:

  • Secure, ID-card access control with 24/7 access for permit holders
  • Security cameras recording all entries & exits and activity within the facility
  • Self-service repair stand with tools and air pump
  • Bike Lock storage so you can leave your lock behind if you prefer

 Outdoor Bike Racks

There are hundreds of bike racks throughout our bike-friendly campus. However, please be aware that some locations near our busiest buildings tend to fill up (e.g. Smith Memorial Student Union, Cramer Hall, Neuberger Hall, College of Urban & Public Affairs). However, an available space nearby can often be found just across the park blocks, near the Millar Library or Peter Stott Center.

DO NOT lock your bike to trees, signs, handrails, or other non-bike rack furnishings. Your bike will be removed and impounded as a result.

Always lock your bike carefully and securely! As with all college campuses, bike theft is a persistant problem. You can dramatically increase the security of your bike by following these simple steps:

  • Always use a U-lock or heavy-gauge chain (cable locks are not enough!)
  • Make sure to lock your bike through a portion of its frame
  • Secure quick-release wheels with your lock or an added cable
  • Remove all detachable accessories including lights, bags, etc.

 Bike Lockers

We host a small number of bike lockers on campus, behind the Blackstone Building. These secure bike lockers can be rented through the City of Portland's Bike Program. Call 503-823-6841 to inquire about reservations.

A map of campus bicycle parking can be found here.
