Every Student is automatically issued a PSUOne card upon enrolling to the university.
PSUOne Card Mail-out Timeline
If you have been photographed and registered for classes, your card will be sent six weeks before the term begins.
If you have registered for classes and have not been photographed, your card will be sent without a photo three weeks before the term begins.
If you receive a non-photo card, simply activate this card at www.psuone.com and come to ID Services to be photographed. We will then mail you a replacement card with a photo at no charge.
Your card will not be mailed until you have registered for classes.
Undeliverable cards are returned to ID Services. We will attempt to contact you via your registered E-Mail address. ID Services will hold your card for 30 days. After this, the card will be destroyed and a replacement fee will be charged if you need the card re-issued. Cards will not be forwarded by USPS. Please maintain an updated address with both Portland State University and Higher One.

Student Prox/Mag Cards (key cards)

Prox/Mag cards are available for purchase by any admitted student for a cost of $15. These cards have a chip that will allow access to buildings once they have been activated. If you are: living in a dormitory, enrolled in Engineering, Architecture, or GIS, or have a child in Helen Gordon Child Care, you will likely need this card. Please stop by the ID office with your valid government issued photo ID. Warranty void for cards punched or damaged.
Petition for waiver of student ID card replacement fee
Re-issuing or replacing a PSU OneCard will incur a $21 fee regardless of the reason for the re-issuance. If you would like to request a waiver of the ID card replacement fee, you may submit a written petition (forms available below) to ID Card Services. This petition must be submitted no more than fourteen days after the card replacement fee is applied to your account or the petition will be automatically denied.
It is important to know that the committee reviews each request individually. In the evaluation process, careful consideration is given to complete and accurate information. Please be as specific as possible as we compare specific dates of address change with card processing and distribution.
Things to know that will work in your favor when evaluating requests:
- State your case and make your request. Petitions that are unclear or do not have a desired outcome may not yield the desired results.
- Help us help you. We can only render a decision based upon the available information. Incomplete forms will not be processed or returned.
