Equipment: Power Macintosh G4 computers running Mac OS X 10.3.x (Panther) with 640MB to 768MB RAM, 40GB or 60GB hard drives, 21" or 19" color displays, a number of high-quality scanners, a number of high-quality color printers, and a high-resolution projection and audio system. Epson 4000/4800 professional ink jet printers, Xerox 7750 color laser printer, Canon iPF8100 large format printer.
The Art Lab

Equipment: Macintosh iMac G5 20" computers running Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) with 1GB RAM, and 80GB hard drives. Several scanners are available for scanning reflective and transparent media. Xerox 7750 color laser printer.
Computer graphics and digital media courses are currently taught in the classroom of the Fine and Performing Arts Media Arts Center (FPA|MAC), located in Neuberger Hall, Room 251, or in the Art Lab, Art Building Annex, Room 165. The FPA Media Arts Center classroom has 25 student seats and an adjoining lab of 12 seats. Either one or both rooms are available for lab work during all open hours, even when classes are in session. All computer stations are Macintosh. The Art Lab offers 25 seats and is only for both classes and open lab when classes are not in session.
All stations offer internal CD-R/CD-RW recorders and several external DVD-R/RW recorders are available. All stations offer digital video transfers and editing through a Firewire interface. Also available are two professional digital video camcorders, a digital video recorder, and two digital video/VHS converters.
The FPA Media Arts Center and the Art Lab provide high-quality color printing on its large-format color laser and color inkjet printers.
