Application is a dual process between the Department of Art and the University Office of Admissions. Please consult Graduate Admissions for University information and procedures.

Departmental Admission to the MFA Program

All MFA applicants are required to complete their application for admission online.

Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Art Practice applicants - requirements for admission must be completed by 5 p.m. February 1 prior to the fall term in which the student intends to begin work toward the degree.

Low Res MFA Art and Social Practice applicants - requirements for admission must be completed by 5 p.m. June 4 prior to the fall term in which the student intends to begin work toward the degree.

Applicants must have a BA, BS, or BFA degree with a concentration in any of the following: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, installation, intermedia, multimedia, performance art, or related field.
