Scenes from Barcelona Summer Program 2009

Barcelona Summer Program

In September 2009, twelve students completed a three-week study program in Barcelona, Spain. For the fifth year, the program was led by Professor Rudy Barton and afforded students with an opportunity to study one of the world's most dynamic and extraordinary urban laboratories.  Students were able to stroll the Ramblas, examine Roman ruins and Gaudi structures, and hold conversations with Barcelona architects. Trips to nearby villages and the city of Girona afforded comparisons with Barcelona's best projects. As part of a journal project, students conducted in-depth studies of several of the region's best public spaces.
