Jane Wiener Memorial Alumni Scholarship

The Jane Wiener Memorial Alumni Scholarship covers full tuition and required fees for one student-age child of a Portland State University, or, Portland State College alumnus or alumna.

The PSU Alumni Association endows the Jane Wiener Memorial Alumni Scholarship to provide an undergraduate education for children of alumni who lack the financial resources to attend PSU. The Jane Wiener Memorial Alumni Scholarship currently covers full resident tuition and required fees for one student. The scholarship is renewable, provided the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA, performs appropriate community service, and meets PSU's criteria for financial need. While on scholarship, the student must enroll in at least 12 credit hours per term or 36 credit hours per academic year, which includes fall, winter, and spring quarters. The scholarship is offered for a maximum of 15 quarters (186 credit hours) or until completion of the degree, whichever occurs first.

Eligibility

Please note: You may have resident or non-resident status, but the scholarship award is equal to resident tuition. While on scholarship, the recipient must volunteer 20 hours/term with an appropriate PSU or community service organization. Service project must meet with approval of the scholarship oversight committee.

Each scholarship applicant must:

  • Be the child or step-child or legal ward of a PSU graduate. A PSU graduate is defined as a person with a degree from Portland State University or Portland State College.
  • Be accepted or enrolled as an undergraduate student at PSU for fall �07.
  • Be involved in or have recently performed some type of community service activity.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per term.
  • Qualify on the basis of need as determined by PSU�s Office of Financial Aid upon receipt of your F.A.F.S.A. application.
