Sara Gruen's keynote speech at PSU Weekend canceled due to illness
Due to illness, Sara Gruen is unable to speak at Portland State University on Friday. Gruen, author of Water for Elephants, was scheduled to give the keynote speech at PSU Weekend, the University's community-wide open house.
Ticket holders will be notified and refunded the full amount. For additional information, please call the PSU Alumni Association at 503-725-4948.
All other PSU Weekend events and activities will continue as scheduled, including:
- Sixteen free Saturday seminars on topics such as "Brews to Bikes: Portland's Artisan Economy," "The World of Partisan Politics," and "Searching for Paradise, Searching for Home: A Novel Written between Two Cities," by author and PSU professor Diana Abu-Jaber;
- A walking tour of bicycle and pedestrian innovations on campus;
- The grand reopening of the newly remodeled and expanded Science Research and Teaching Center (formerly Science Building 2) with tours, an open house and other events;
- An open house for alumni of the School of Fine & Performing Arts with departmental talks in the newly renovated Lincoln Hall on Sunday; and
- A homecoming football game against the Willamette Bearcats on Saturday at Jeld-Wen Field.
