Transfer student

Upon admission to Portland State University you will receive a Transfer Evaluation Report. The evaluation identifies how your classes taken at other colleges and universities are accepted by PSU, and how those credits apply towards PSU's graduation requirements. Review this report before you see an adviser at Orientation: Advising & Registration session. This session is your first opportunity to receive academic advising at PSU. All new transfer students are required to attend an Orientation: Advising & Registration session prior registering for their first term of classes at PSU. Sessions for transfer students are offered every term and will provide information geared specifically towards your needs and concerns.

After attending an Advising & Registration session you should see an adviser in your intended major as soon as possible. Students who have not selected a major can seek advising in the Undergraduate Advising and Support Center (UASC). Students who are pursuing a pre-professional program (e.g. nursing, medicine, education) can see an adviser in their intended major or an adviser in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Advising Center.
