Admission Application Made Easy

Applying for university admission is often a daunting process. But at Portland State University, the process is actually very simple. To make it even easier for you, follow this step-by-step guide to admission:

Step One

  • Complete an undergraduate admission application online at http://www.pdx.edu/admissions/apply.html. If you prefer a paper application, contact the Office of Admissions, Registration, and Records at 1-800-547-8887 to have one mailed to you.

Step Two

  • Submit your SAT or ACT scores to Portland State. The SAT code for Portland State is 4610; the ACT code is 3492.

Step Three

  • Ask your high school registrar to send an official copy of your transcript(s) to Portland State University, PO Box 901, Portland, OR 97207-0901. Note: To be official, the transcript must be in its original, sealed envelope directly from your school.

  • If you have earned, or will earn, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or college credit through your high school, remember to submit these official exam results and transcripts, also.

Step Four

  • After high school graduation, don’t forget to have a final high school transcript sent to the address above. This official transcript must show the date of your high school diploma.

Step Five

  • Register for New Student Orientation and campus housing. After admission, you will receive complete information to prepare for your university education.
