What:
Portland State's Institute for Nonprofit Management is sponsoring a workshop, "Strategic Planning: Getting from Here to There in One Piece," as a part of the Nonprofit Fundamentals Workshop series. This workshop, designed for board members, staff leaders and others involved in planning for nonprofit organizations, discusses the fundamentals of the strategic planning process, the various strategic planning tools and approaches, and how to make the best out of limited human and financial resources. The workshop will be an interactive session and will provide specific take-home tools to support the planning efforts of the participants. The workshop will be conducted by Marc Smiley, founder of Marc Smiley Organizational Development, which is co-sponsoring this series.

Background:
Marc Smiley is an organizational development consultant and has extensive experience working with nonprofit groups as a board member, executive director, staff member and consultant. Smiley is also an adjunct professor in PSU's Institute for Nonprofit Management, where he teaches "Strategic Planning for Nonprofit Organizations." The Institute for Nonprofit Management at PSU works to meet the needs of nonprofits.
