Spring 2003 commencement
On Saturday, June 14, approximately 1,850 graduates and 11,000 guests gathered at the Rose Garden Arena to mark PSU's annual spring commencement ceremony. The highlight of the ceremony came when Oregon Symphony Conductor James DePreist delivered a stirring address to graduates, "I am certain that you are not graduating from this wonderful university in order to join the choir of the complacent. That chorus is large enough." The full text of the address is available at http://www.pdx.edu/commencement/address.php.
