Portland State has bright plans on the horizon—in solar power generation. Funding for PSU to house the first large-scale solar test facility on a university campus is in a bill under consideration in Washington, D.C. Financial support for PSU's Solar Photovoltaic Test Facility System, Materials & Installation Project is part of the Senate's Energy and Water Appropriations bill.

The Solar Photovoltaic Installation Project is a solar array system to be located on the roof of Cramer Hall. The project will give students a unique educational opportunity while providing research value for the solar energy industry.

The project continues Portland State's leadership in building a sustainable urban campus and commitment to clean, renewable energy sources.
