Silent and Live Auction to Support PSU Art Student Scholarships, Nov. 18
What:
The Department of Art at Portland State University will be holding the third annual "High & Low" art auction and gala to raise money for PSU art student scholarships. Items such as fine art, wine, books, rugs, clothing and more will be awarded to high bidders. The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation will match all funds raised from new donors for PSU scholarships as part of the University's "Building Our Future" fundraising campaign. The evening will include a silent and live action auction, a raffle and food and beverages.
When:
Friday, November 18, 2005, 5:30-9 p.m. The silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m., the live auction will start at 7 p.m.
Where:
PSU Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom, 3rd floor (1825 S.W. Broadway).
Cost:
Admission is free and open to the public. Food and beverage will be on a donation basis. Raffle tickets range from $5-10.

Background:
The Department of Art in the School of Fine and Performing Arts at Portland State University consists of artists and designers, educators and art historians actively engaged in their respective fields and with the extended community. As part of an urban university, the Department of Art is dedicated to helping students understand and experience ways that artists and their works are involved in a larger social context, both in the contemporary world and in the course of world history.
The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation, an independent private foundation, was established in 2002 to enhance the quality of life of Oregonians through support of the arts and education. Through the University's "Building Our Future" campaign, the Miller Foundation will help raise a total of $500,000 for PSU scholarships.
