School of Business Presents Lecture on "Restoring Investors' Confidence: The Role of the SEC"

What:
John Bizjak, professor of Finance at Portland State University, and John Kroger, assistant professor at the Lewis & Clark Law School, will present a free lecture on "Restoring Investors' Confidence: The Role of the SEC." The lecture is organized as a part of PSU's School of Business Administration's Business Briefing Breakfast Series.

When:
Thursday, March 17, 2005. Continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. Presentation will be from
7:45-9 a.m.

Where:
Multnomah Athletic Club, 1849 S.W. Salmon Street, Portland, Ore.

Cost:
The lecture is free and open to the public. Seats limited to the first 100 guests. Reservations are required by March 14, 2005.

Background:
John Bizjak teaches corporate financial management, portfolio theory, and hedging and risk management at PSU. His research focuses on the costs of litigation, the use of derivative securities by corporate insiders and compensation practices. Bizjak is the first recipient of the Gerry and Marilyn Cameron Professorship of Finance.

Before joining Lewis & Clark, John Kroger served as a federal prosecutor in New York City where he successfully prosecuted over 100 federal criminal cases. Kroger has also served as a prosecutor on the Justice Department's Enron Task Force, the deputy policy director of Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, and a senior policy analyst at the United States' treasury department.
