PSU's Child Welfare Partnership receives renewal of $7.5 million in funding
Posted: July 22, 2003

Improving delivery of child-welfare services to Oregon's abused and neglected children and their families is the mission of PSU's Child Welfare Partnership, which just received a renewal of $7.5 million in funding from the Department of Human Services (DHS) for the 2003-2005 biennium. PSU's Graduate School of Social Work, the School of Extended Studies, and DHS work through the Partnership to train welfare workers and foster and adoptive parents in Oregon. The Partnership also funds child-welfare research and provides stipends for students pursuing a master's in Social Work with a child-welfare focus.

Started in 1994, the Child Welfare Partnership was one of the first university-based programs in the nation to integrate child-welfare research, training, and graduate education into a unified effort.
