Portland State University has named William Prows director of Market Outreach and Development for Extended Studies. Prows brings to PSU Extended Studies more than 25 years of experience in public and community affairs management and development.
Prows will manage community outreach and market development for all Portland State University Extended Studies, which includes programs such as Continuing Education and the Continuing Education Press, Degree Completion, Distance Learning, Early Childhood Training Center, eMBA, Intensive Language Program and the Professional Development Center. Prows will maintain and develop strong collaborative ties with industry leaders and major business sectors, helping to develop educational programs that meet the needs of the community.
Prior to joining Portland State, Prows was the regional community manager for Qwest responsible for public affairs in the Willamette Valley, Portland and the Central/North Oregon Coast. His duties included marketing support, economic development and public policy, local and state governmental liaison, educational and community relations and corporate contributions. Prows is currently affiliated with the advisory board of Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs, Oregon Telcomm Pioneers 31 Board of Directors and the Rotary Club of Portland.
PSU Extended Studies uses the strengths of Portland State to serve and empower lifelong learners by delivering accessible programs that are flexible, responsive and innovative. Extended Studies is responsible for yearlong professional and personal development offerings, delivering credit and noncredit programs, courses and workshops on and off campus that are offered in collaboration with academic schools and colleges across the University.
