What:
Portland State University's Athletics Department is holding its annual "Night of Wine & Roses" to raise money for student-athlete scholarships. The centerpiece of the event is a wine tasting, where attendees can sample wines from several wineries and purchase mixed cases of wine at rates below retail prices. The event also features live entertainment, fine cuisine and both silent and live auctions, featuring trips, jewelry, art and more.

Background:
Highlighting the entertainment at the event are performances by student-athletes, showcasing their talents off of the field. In its fourth year "A Night of Wine and Roses" has already become the premier fundraising event for Viking Athletics. This year's goal is to raise $100,000; all proceeds raised go toward scholarships for the more than 300 student-athletes who participate in 14 varsity sports at Portland State University.
