VA Medical Center in Portland, OR - Facility Management Division
VA Medical Center is looking for a graduate engineer to fill a position to start summer of 2003.
-This engineer will receive a year of on-the-job training in a modern health care facility in Portland, Oregon, in an intern position, followed by a second training year and career at either the Portland site, or another VA Medical Center. No further moves are required. -The person will work in a department with eight other engineers (electrical, mechanical, civil, and biomedical) who oversee a hundred technicians, trades people and contractor who support the wide variety of needs at the medical center. Four for of these engineers graduated from PSU. -The Engineering department at Portland VAMC is responsible for construction, remodeling, planning, equipment and plant maintenance, medical equipment acquisition and support, CAD, safety, transportation, plant operations and grounds. The Chief Engineer is part of the management team of the center. -The Portland VAMC is among the most complex and interesting in the VA system, including programs of liver and kidney transplant, interventional cardiology and radiology, and many other specialty programs. We are affiliated with Oregon Health and Sciences University. -We will consider both Bachelors and Masters Degree graduates from any of the engineering specialties.
