NPR's Juan Williams to Speak at PSU Honoring the Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., Jan. 12

What:
Juan Williams, senior correspondent for National Public Radio, will speak at a community-wide event celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event also features the Woodlawn Elementary School dancers. Juan Williams will offer insights into and the lessons learned from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A book signing will follow the talk; books can be purchased at the event. Williams’ visit is sponsored by Portland State University and Oregon Public Broadcasting.

When:
Wednesday, January 12, 2005, lecture at 7 p.m.; book signing to follow.

Where:
PSU’s Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom, room 355 (1825 SW Broadway).

Cost:

Tickets are $20 for the general public and $5 for students who present a valid student ID at the time of sale and can be purchased at Ticketmaster outlets or at the PSU Ticket Office (1825 SW Broadway, room 102). Seating is limited.

Juan Williams is one of America’s leading political writers and thinkers. In addition to his post with NPR, he is the political analyst for Fox Television, a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and former editorial writer for the Washington Post and the author of three books including the critically acclaimed biography Thurgood Marshall: American Revolutionary and the nonfiction bestseller Eyes on the Prize: America's Civil Rights Years, 1954-1965, the companion volume to the 2003 television series This Far by Faith: Stories from the African American Religious Experience.
