Rosie-Lee Antoinette Bryant, the current First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, is visiting Portland State University to discuss education issues abroad and the critical importance of today's college students having a global perspective. Bryant will visit Portland State as part of a week-long trip to Oregon.

Background:
Rosie-Lee Antoinette Bryant, the current First Lady of Liberia, is a tireless champion for the people of Liberia. Through her personal effort and sacrifice, the lives of thousands of children and many Liberians have been touched, strengthened and supported. As founder and president of the New Liberia Development Foundation, Bryant continues her work both in the United States and in the Republic of Liberia. Bryant's husband, Guyde, is chairman of the transitional government that assumed power in August 2003 following the ousting of President Charles Taylor. In June of 2003, a United Nation's tribunal indicted Taylor for war crimes in Sierra Leone.
