What:
Portland State University's Institute for Nonprofit Management, along with PhilanthropyNow and Claro! LLC, two nonprofit consultancies, is sponsoring a workshop on Nonprofit Accountability-"Fire Tower Foresight-the 360º View from the Top." The workshop will explore the techniques for managing a nonprofit's public and private accountabilities as well as provide tips on how to self-audit an organization's performance. Using carefully structured exercises, coaching and group discussions, participants will learn how to build a credible and resilient organization. Victoria Cox from the State of Oregon's Attorney General Office Charities Division, and Kay Sohl, Executive Director of Technical Assistance for Community Services will offer their insights about trends in government oversight of nonprofit organizations and fiscal management strategies. The workshop is designed for nonprofit sector staff, volunteers, executive directors, presidents, board members, trustees, development professionals, CPAs, financial advisors and planned giving specialists.
