Dr. Ramin Farahmandpur introduces his new book
At Evergreen State College, February 2, 2006, with students and faculty in the Masters in Teaching program, he discussed his new book, coauthored with Peter McLaren, Teaching against Global Capitalism and the New Imperialism: A Critical Pedagogy.
The book covers important issues in education today including multiculturalism, globalization, neoliberalism, postmodernism, imperialism and current debates and developments in Marxist educational theory. These issues are linked to critical educational praxis, particularly to teaching and learning in urban schools. The book also develops the basis for a wider political project directed against racism, sexism, classism and other forms of oppression in society.
