MCECS_Golden_Coins.jpgEveryone gives in their own way, and inventor Morgan Johnson and his wife, Judy Johnson, have shown that they have "hearts of gold" for the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science. In response to a recent fundraising matching gift opportunity for the Maseeh College's Northwest Center for Engineering, Science and Technology, Morgan and Judy presented Dean Robert D. Dryden with a clear glass vase containing 1,001 Golden Dollar coins that feature Sacagawea on the face.

When asked, "Why the Golden Dollar coins?," Morgan responded, "Writing a check is just too boring!"

Morgan Johnson is the founder and chief technical officer for Octavian Scientific, Inc., a technology startup based at Portland State University under an arrangement that will give Portland State partial ownership of the company.
