This month, students in the Master of International Management (MIM) program are on a three-week tour of Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai as part of a year-long graduate program that prepares students for careers in companies focused on the Pacific Rim. While in Asia, students attend lectures, visit companies and industrial parks, and meet with business executives, including representatives from Portland-based companies Columbia Sportswear and Pixelworks.
The School of Business Administration’s MIM program is the only one in the U.S. focused solely on Asia. The degree provides graduate students with the skills to be leaders in international business, including proficiency in a language, knowledge of customs and issues, and field observations and contacts. Students can specialize in Global Marketing, Global Supply Chain Management, or Global Business and Sustainability. Program graduates have gone on to work for organizations such as Mercy Corps, Nike, VTM Incorporated, American Harwood Export Council, and the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
