Minimum Academic Requirements: International Undergraduates

International applicants for undergraduate admission must satisfy the following academic preparation requirements:

To apply as a freshman (first-year student), you must have completed your U.S. secondary school (university preparatory) education or equivalent with a cumulative (overall) grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 when converted to the United States 4.0 grading scale. You are not required to submit college entrance exam (SAT or ACT) scores; however, a low GPA can be offset by SAT or ACT scores. Additional information can be found here.

To apply as a transfer student, you must have earned 30 transferable quarter credits - excluding English as a Second Language (ESL) courses - with a cumulative (overall) grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.25 when converted to the United States 4.0 grading scale. The transferable credits must have been completed at a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, or a college or university recognized as an institution of higher eduction by the Ministry of Education in the respective country. Most applicants who have completed a year of full-time study at a postsecondary institution have earned at least 30 quarter credits.

Student performance is evaluated based on the following grades:

A - Excellent
B - Good
C - Satisfactory
D - Inferior
F - Failure

Grade point averages are calculated based on the following values for each grade:
