Application Deadlines

Portland State University accepts applications for each term on a rolling admissions basis. Please note that the following dates are priority filing dates only. Applications will still be accepted after these dates; however once all documents have been received, please allow a minimum processing time of two to three weeks for an admissions decision. Students applying for financial aid should apply as early as possible. Priority is given to applicants who have submitted complete files by the following dates.

Domestic undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, and re-enrollment students:

FALL: June 1
WINTER: October 1
SPRING: February 1
SUMMER: May 1

There are a limited number of undergraduate programs that require an additional application for students wishing to enroll in restricted upper division coursework. Please consult your academic advisor for information on application deadlines, pre-requisite courses, and grade point average restrictions. Examples of restricted programs are business, engineering, and child and family studies.

International students:

FALL: March 1
WINTER: July 1
SPRING: November 1
SUMMER: February 1

NOTE: International students not currently residing in the United States should allow additional time for the application package to reach us by mail, and for the admission acceptance letter and I-20 to travel by return mail.

Graduate students:

FALL: April 1
WINTER: September 1
SPRING: November 1
SUMMER: February 1

Graduate students should consult their specific department for application deadlines.
