How to Apply: Freshman

Step One: Apply

Send your online or paper version of the application for undergraduate admission, accompanied by a non-refundable processing fee of $50.00  to the Office of Admissions, Registration and Records.

Step Two: Submit Official Test Scores

Submit your scores from either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT). The PSU school code for the SAT is 4610 and the code for ACT is 3492.

Step Three: Submit an Official High School Transcript

To be official, the transcript must be in its original, sealed envelope from the issuing school or institution. All documents submitted to the University become the property of Portland State University and cannot be returned, copied or released.

To finalize admission, students must submit a final high school transcript showing the date of graduation immediately following successful high school completion.   

Step Four: Submit Additional/Supplemental Documents

  1. Send all official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended to the Office of Admissions, Registration and Records.
  2. Students who will earn credit through the Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College Level Exam Program (CLEP), or college credit through their high school are also required to submit official exam results and or official transcripts.
