In fact, Portland State educates Oregon's largest number of graduate students. Applicants at the Graduate level must meet specific departmental requirements as well as University requirements. Visit the academic department website for the degree that you are seeking. Read instructions carefully. Then select more information from the options below.

  • How to Apply: for students seeking regular admission to a full graduate program.
  • Postbaccalaureate: for students who want to take graduate-level courses but do not wish to be formally admitted to a graduate program.
  • Non-Degree Entry: students are restricted to part-time, not-formally-admitted enrollment. Student services, student housing and course availability is more limited. Non-Degree Entry students are not entitled to financial aid.
  • Re-Enrollment: is for formerly admitted students who have left Portland State and have attended another college or university and is seeking to finish a graduate degree after a delay. For more information, contact the Office of Graduate Studies.
