Beginning in the summer of 2024, Portland State University began a revitalization process for its academic programs. The process uses the data-informed methodology developed by Robert Gray Atkins, as outlined in the book, “Start, Stop, or Grow.” This approach has been successfully adopted by many colleges and universities. It will help PSU thoroughly examine our academic programs to ensure their financial sustainability and their ability to best serve our students.

This effort is to ensure the university’s financial sustainability and strengthen pathways for our region’s learners to achieve their educational goals. PSU has a vital role to play in our region as a hub for education, innovation and culture. We must stay focused on how we can serve our students and our community in the highest and best way possible.
