PSU Leads National AI Project to Lower Geothermal Energy Costs

Portland State University is leading a U.S. Department of Energy-backed national team using artificial intelligence to reduce the financial risk of geothermal exploration. Developed by a PSU graduate student, the innovative algorithm helps developers predict underground temperatures and cut costly drilling decisions.

At PSU, Financial Literacy Includes Real Investment Accounts

Supported by a grant from the OnPoint Community Credit Union Foundation, the PSU Financial Wellness & Literacy Initiative offers a personal finance course that guides students through opening an IRA. Students who complete the class receive grant funds to seed their new accounts, giving them a head start on long-term wealth.
